Overflowing the margins of charts and maps, starting from the drawing of the world to reveal the ground of men, this exhibition proposes a reflective and labyrinthine journey that travels from the representation of the outside world to the social and human interiority of Terceira Island. Mare Nostrum: Of Terceira Island and Its Cartographies, designed as a temporal hourglass that brings together yesterday and today, invites the visitor to strip away the cosmetic surface of history to confront the foundations, mythologies and fractures of island life.
