Recognition is handled by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) and, for some professions, by the relevant professional body. The process can be automatic for certain degrees or require an equivalence assessment. Rules and fees change, so confirm on the DGES website and with the University of the Azores if needed.
