Short answer
The Azores are home to Europe's only commercial tea plantations, on São Miguel island. The Gorreana and Porto Formoso estates grow, harvest and process black and green tea using traditional methods, and both offer free or low-cost visits with tastings. Production is small-scale and seasonal; check opening hours and harvest times directly with the plantations before visiting.
