Short answer
The Azores are not a reliable place to see the northern lights, though rare sightings have occurred during strong solar storms. Stargazing, however, can be excellent on clear nights, especially away from light pollution. The best months are usually summer, but cloud cover is always a factor. Check local forecasts for clear skies.
